Now MFA (Multi-factor Authentication) is becoming a must in terms of security and protection for your applications, let´s take a look and see how it mighty affects Project online when using workflows with Microsoft Designer.
As you already know, Project online provides great capabilities in order to define your workflows for your project life cycle. We can define different phases with different stages for every type of project (PoC, basic engineering, detailed engineering, financial analysis, development and so on). It is at this point where Project online becomes alive and intelligent. Depending on human decisions, Project online will treat the project one way or another.
If you try to create or modify and existing workflow with Designer when my Office 365 user has MFA implemented, you will get an error.
This is because you need to create passwords for your apps. So, what can I do?
You have two options:
Create a new user, free of MFA requirement in your Office 365
If you cannot do that, create a password for SharePoint Designer. This can be done through your Office 365 account settings.
You should see a screen similar to this (sorry but mine is in Spanish)
Create a new item. The system will generate an app password. Copy this password in your Microsoft Designer and that´s it.
Hope it helps you
